Prof Likhit Dhiravegin, a fellow of the Royal Institute and eminent political scientist, died of cancer on Sunday night at Phramongkutklao Hospital. Prof Likhit DhiraveginBorn on May 11, 1941, Likhit graduated in law in 1966 from Thammasat University, where he was also awarded a master's degree in law and diplomacy in 1969. He obtained a master of arts degree in political science from Brown University, the United States, in 1970, and a doctorate in political science from the same univeristy in 1972. He was appointed dean of the faculty of political science of the university in 1983. Likhit later moved to the Thai Rak Thai Party, serving as a party executive committee member and a party-list MP.
